The Challenge....

to clean out my pantry. I am sure most of you like me have can or jars of something in your pantry but you have no idea why you bought it, 'what recipe was I going to use that in?' Well I have challeged David and I to do a little better at using what is already in our pantry and freezer before it expires and we have wasted it. We are doing pretty good actually. It has also helped that I am planning meals every two weeks before I go grocery shopping. I am stumped on these two cans of cheddar cheese condensed soup....why did I buy them, who knows. Anyway if anyone has a recipe to share I would love to have it. I will also post the recipes on my Sweet Elder Blog. You can e-mail me: rebekah_elder@yahoo.com

It's not even a little healthy, but you can use the cheese soup as a base for a baked mac-and-cheese casserole. Add some shredded cheddar, some noodles, and maybe some bread crumbs, and you have yummy mac-and cheese. It's the only thing I've ever used it for...

You know that cheese dip that Kim M makes with velveeta or nacho dip? I've used cheddar cheese soup (without milk) to make that or to stretch it!

I can't imagine anything with condensed cheddar cheese being healthy thanks for the ideas, keep them coming.

I love this challenge. We are working on this too. We have a big chest freezer that is full right now and it's little or no shopping until we are done.
As for that cheddar cheese soup, I think the baked mac-and-cheese sounds good. You could always add some broccoli to "healthy it up" a bit.

I think I will try the mac-and-cheese idea, thanks amanda! I have also been told by a friend that they use it in their white chicken chili. I guess I have two cans I believe I will try both ideas/recipes, thanks!
